As a provider of multi-temperature warehousing services, we need to have a technology solution robust enough to handle the varying temperature requirements at our 14 warehouses while offering state-of-the art technology for our customers.
To that end, we are proud to now be utilizing full radio frequency (RF) scanning systems that have allows us to improve overall accuracy along with reducing receiving and put away times. This technology coupled with our warehouse management system (WMS) that allows our customers real-time visibility to their inventory and transactions has been well received by our customers and has helped in the process of acquiring new customers.
At this time our RF equipment consists of forklift mounted and hand-held units while we are also testing finger scanners as well in both the ambient and frozen warehouses. The scanning equipment has been welcomes by the operational staff as it has improved efficiencies in certain areas of the operation while improving overall accuracy in our heavy case pick environment.
